Emirates has evolved into a globally influential travel and tourism conglomerate in just a few short years. Wholly owned by the Government of Dubai, the airline has had to develop and expand in order to stay ahead of the competition, made all the more fierce by Dubai's continuing open skies policy – a policy wholly supported by the airline. Managing to maintain the latter whilst continuing the former is the secret of Emirates success.

Currently responsible for more than 50 per cent of all flight movements in and out of Dubai International Airport, Emirates aim is to increase this tally to 70 per cent by 2010, without compromising quality. The airline currently flies to 87 destinations in 59 around the world and the network is expanding constantly. Nearly 550 flights fly out of Dubai per week covering five continents.

In the financial year 2005/2006, Emirates carried 14.5 million passengers and one million tones of cargo. Always at the forefront of aviation technology, Emirates flies the youngest and one of the most modern fleets in the world, with an average aircraft age of 61 months.

have you ever thought reeeally hard about our white, puffy, troposphere-dwelling friends, the clouds? did you know these bulbous lil thangs are made up of billions of water droplets (a.k.a. vapor) and microscopic water crystals

(so small the can float... kinda like chris angel). we at glacéau have thought long and hard about our friends, the clouds, and would like to give them the recognition they deserve as mother natures purest source of water.

we've decided to copy off our friends, the clouds, and create smartwater. smartwater (developed in 1996, and, eh hem, pioneered the enhanced water category), is made by vapor distillation, the purification process that simulates the way water is cleansed in nature – the hydrologic cycle. our process separates and purifies the water molecules to their most pristine state. we then one-up the clouds and add a unique and purposeful combination of electrolytes (calcium, magnesium and potassium) for hydration, helping your body to perform at its very best.

this unique combination of vapor distillation + electrolytes results in a water that works harder for you, making it a "smart" choice. hydro = water and logic = smart… hence, smartwater. we like to say, the water with all the answers… now, that's pretty clever, huh?
